And the Lamb of God Was Present There

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And God said, let there be light, and let there be life, and let there be love between persons.

And in the garden the man hid from the voice of God because he was naked and ashamed.

And in that garden, the woman said, “The serpent tricked me, and so I ate.”

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And God said to the serpent, in enmity with the woman, her offspring will crush your head.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And God said to Cain, your brother’s blood cries out to me from the cursed ground.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And before the flood God told Noah to enter the ark with his family and all the animals.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And God told Abram to go to a land of promise and to make of him a nation of blessings.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Abraham told his beloved son, that God Himself would provide the lamb of sacrifice.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Joseph told his brothers that though they meant to harm him, God intended it for good.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And on the first Passover the lambs were slaughtered and blood placed on the doorframes.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Moses told the people that every day God would rain down bread from heaven to eat.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Joshua told the people to follow the ark of the covenant as it entered the Jordan River.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And God told Samuel to anoint David as king, the son of Jesse who had God’s own heart.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Nathan told King David that God would build an enduring house and throne for him.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Isaiah told a weary king that a virgin shall conceive and bear a son named Emmanuel.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Daniel foresaw one like the Son of Man being given dominion, glory and a kingdom.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And the angel said unto Mary that she would bear the Son to sit on David’s throne forever.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And when Mary’s son was born, she wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Magi, seeing the mother and the child, offered gifts, bowed down and worshipped him.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And the Baptist testified, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.”

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And as Jesus came out of the water a voice said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I delight.”

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus, tested in the desert, refused all the Serpent’s tricks of the world, flesh and pride. And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus sought out fishers of men to be his beloved disciples and apostles and friends.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus preached God’s kingdom while curing all the sick, blind, crippled and bedeviled.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus was transfigured before his three disciples while speaking with Moses and Elijah.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus came humbly into Jerusalem and wept over its continual refusal to be gathered.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Lazarus’s sister, Mary, poured perfume on Jesus’s feet and wiped them with her hair.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, dried them, and showed forth how a master serves.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it and gave it to them to eat, saying, this is my body.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus, prayed in the garden for his cup of suffering to pass but only if it were God’s will.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus was handed over to coarse men over and over, and then condemned to death.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus while in agony nailed to a cross, exclaimed, Father forgive them, they know not.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And the stone was rolled away from the empty tomb for Jesus had arisen from the dead.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And Jesus told his disciples to go and make disciples for he would be with them always.

And the Lamb of God was present there.

And throughout the ages it is spoken, Take, this is my body, and drink, this is my blood.

And the Lamb of God IS present there.
